Spring Flash Fiction Writing Contest “Back to Life”

Submissions are open at the School of Kingdom Writing!

At long last, winter has passed and signs of spring are finally popping up everywhere. My friends over at the School of Kingdom Writing have offered a fun new opportunity that I wanted to share with my readers and authors. The deadline is in June so you have plenty of time to come up with a brilliant idea and submit your entry.

Spring is a time of new life. Resurrection. Reseeding. Starting again. Fresh blooms.

For this quarter’s free writing contest, we want your best flash fiction on the theme “Back to Life”. There are a million directions you can take this theme. Have some fun with it and don’t be afraid to get weird (you should meet the SOKW students). Your short story can be inspiring, creepy, realistic, fantasy, or even a true story, just so it’s a story.

The maximum word count for this contest is 1,500 words. Short stories of all types, genres, and styles are welcome, but it should be narrative in nature (a story, not poetry, lyrics, etc.)

This writing contest is open to all English-speaking writers anywhere in the world. There is no cost to enter.

The winner will receive a $100 Amazon gift card and have their story published to the School of Kingdom Writers website.

Curious what it takes to win? Check out past winning submissions on the School of Kingdom Writers website here.
